v1.1.0 — The First Big Update

Our first post-launch update is here. v1.1.0 brings a whole new way to express yourself, language support for Spanish and Russian speakers, daily check-in streaks, and a bunch of fixes based on your feedback. Thank you for helping us shape the pond.

Bubble Shop

The Bubble Shop is open! Customize how your messages and posts look using Gibbet Coins.

Chat Bubbles — Custom visual styles for your messages in chatrooms and DMs. Choose from themed designs with unique colors, shapes, borders, and animations. Some shimmer. Some glow. All yours.

Post Card Bubbles — Your posts and polls can wear a new look too. Post card designs change how your content appears in community feeds.

Bundles — Matching chat bubble + post card sets at a discounted price. Look consistent everywhere.

15 starter designs are available now, ranging from free to premium. Community staff can create and publish new designs for their Lily Pads.

Daily Check-Ins & Streaks

Check in to your communities every day to earn coins or reputation points. The home screen now shows a green "CHECK IN" badge on any community you haven't visited yet today. Inside each community, a new 7-day streak tracker shows your progress with animated checkmarks and inline rewards. Keep your streak alive!

Language Support

Gibbet now speaks three languages. The entire app — every screen, button, menu, and message — is available in English, Spanish, and Russian. You can switch languages in your settings. More languages are on the way.

Welcome Experience

New users who try to create a community will now see a friendly welcome page instead of an error. It explains that Gibbet is in beta, shows the communities that are currently active, and lets you jump straight into one.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

Online counts — Member counts no longer include yourself. If you're the only one in a chatroom or community, it won't say "1 online" anymore.

Featured chatrooms — The homepage chatroom carousel now only shows featured chatrooms. If nothing is featured, the section hides itself instead of showing an empty row.

Community access — Non-members can no longer sneak into community chatrooms. If you leave a community, those chatrooms lock until you rejoin.

Push notifications — You'll now get notified for likes, comments, follows, messages, and more. You can customize exactly which notifications you receive in your settings.

Global posts — A database issue that blocked posts without a community has been fixed.

Profile banners — Can now be customized, similar to how it works on Discord.

Performance — Reduced unnecessary background queries and cleaned up debug logging that was slowing down screen transitions.

Translations — Key mismatches across five screens have been fixed. No more raw keys showing up where text should be.
