This update completes the push notification system, adds new ways to help you learn the app, and makes everything faster under the hood.

Push Notifications — Fully Wired

Notifications now work across the board. You'll get notified for new followers, likes, comments, DM messages, DM requests, chat messages, community announcements, and moderation actions. We also fixed a bug where some users had notifications silently disabled — if that was you, they're back on now. When you log in, you'll see a one-time prompt to enable notifications. Tap "Enable" and you're set. You can fine-tune exactly which notifications you receive in Settings.

Broadcast Notifications

Team Gibbet can now send announcements directly to your phone. Important updates, new features, community news — you'll hear about it when it matters.

Post Type Walkthroughs

New to Gibbet? When you create your first post, you'll see a quick walkthrough explaining what each post type does and how to use it. These only show once so they won't get in the way after you've learned the ropes. Each post type also has a helpful tooltip if you need a refresher.

Daily Item Shop

The Bubble Shop now has a rotating daily section! Four featured items refresh every day — some are exclusives you can only get during their rotation, and some may be on sale. Check back daily so you don't miss anything.

Performance Improvements

Chat loads faster.

We optimized how messages and profiles are fetched, cutting unnecessary database calls significantly. Screens throughout the app feel snappier.

Security Hardening

We tightened database-level security across the platform. This one's invisible to you, but it means your data is better protected than ever.

Google Play Store

v1.1.2 has been submitted to the Google Play Store. We'll let you know the moment it's approved. In the meantime, grab the latest APK from gibbet.app.
